Metrics Checker FAQ

What ARR puts a startup in each stage?

The checker uses these effective ARR ranges: under $500,000 is Pre-Seed; $500,000 to under $1,000,000 is Seed; $1,000,000 to under $5,000,000 is Series A; and $5,000,000 through the accepted $100,000,000 maximum is Series B.

Where do these startup metric benchmarks come from?

These directional reference points are curated from Founder Academy’s “Fundraising 101” and “Ops & Finance for Seed Stage” materials. They are useful benchmarks, not universal fundraising rules.

How does ARR determine the stage shown?

The tool reads only the submitted Current ARR and selects the highest matching METRICS_STAGES threshold. It does not infer stage from growth, NRR, or the other displayed metrics. Inclusive boundary values resolve to the higher stage because classify() scans the stages from the end.
